Also known as pressing, this involves the production of a CD / DVD from a polycarbonate mould with the data pressed into this mould using a stamper. This stamper is made from a glass master created from your production master.

Before the introduction of CDR and DVD-R, this was the only option available for producing multiple copies. This method is not cost effective for runs of fewer than 500 due to the expensive pre-mastering costs and creation of the glass master.

Replication still remains the best and cheapest for mass production and is recommended for runs over 500 units of audio, data, or mixed formats. On-body printing is achieved by screen-printing.
